Bromleys is delighted to announce its support for Willow Wood Hospice’s 2016 Wills Week.
The firm is backing a campaign by the Ashton-under-Lyne hospice to encourage people who do not have a will to make one.
Willow Wood’s Wills Week runs from Monday, July 4 to Friday, July 8, and will see Bromleys pass on any fees for wills drawn up during this period to the hospice.
Bromleys’ Carol Parker says: “We are very pleased to be supporting the hospice’s Wills Week.
“Unfortunately, we all too often see the distress caused when people pass away without leaving a will.
“We hope that, by being part of the hospice campaign, we can encourage people to set out exactly what they want to happen to their assets, property and even their pets after they pass away.
“Without a will in place, your loved ones will have no control over your affairs.”
John Fellowes, head of fundraising and PR at Willow Wood, says it is estimated that over 60 per cent of British adults do not have a will.
He adds: “Wills are important to make sure that your loved ones are cared for and provided for, and will guarantee that any wishes you had during your lifetime are carried out after you are no longer here.
“Many people believe that, if they don’t have many assets or if they are married or have children, they don’t need a will, as everything will automatically be transferred over to their loved ones.
“The truth is, almost everybody needs a will to fend off unforeseen circumstances and expenses. No matter how old, everyone should have a professionally-written, up-to-date will.”
