Bromleys ‘triumphant’ event celebrating women in business in Tameside

Tameside Women In Business (TWIBs) made a triumphant return this week, after a short hiatus.

Bromleys Solicitors joined forced with the rest of the MAPD Group team to deliver the event, at the spectacular Ashton Old Baths in Ashton-under-Lyne, on November 30. The occasion was attended by forty of Tameside’s finest, selling out completely in just one week of going live with over 60 applications to attend in total.

The free lunch was an informal gathering for local women in business from the Tameside area with the aim of them being able to network and build new and existing business relationships.

Hosted by Louise Nolan, Practice Manager at Bromleys, the event was both fabulous and inspiring.

Louise said: “This was the first time that the event has been held at Ashton Old Baths and it really did provide us with the perfect backdrop to host what was has perhaps been the best edition of TWIB’s to date. Thank you to all who attended, it is clear from the feedback that everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did”.

Guest speaker at the event was Hannah Kennedy, Director of Learning, Development & Careers at MAPD Group.

Hannah trained as a solicitor in London, where she was lucky enough to spend time working with the legal team in house at Harrods. Upon qualifying, Hannah returned to the Northwest and worked for a global law firm, specialising in Construction and engineering disputes.

After having a family Hannah joined Myers Solicitors in Stoke and became a board member. Myers Solicitors, like Bromleys became part of the MAPD Group and Hannah has subsequently joined MAPD as the Director of Learning, Development and Careers. In this role Hannah works with businesses powered by MAPD to support people’s career progression and development by offering learning and development opportunities.

At the event, Hannah delivered a talk that was “An honest conversation about culture”. It explored how to create, maintain and evolve a culture that delivers high performance and happy people, driving forward the company ethos of Making a Positive Difference.

Many companies in the Tameside area and beyond benefited from attending the event, with some saying that “todays topic was brilliant and made me think about how we can make a difference in our own workplace” “Fantastic event, inspiring women, amazing venue” “Lots of food for thought and lots of lovely food too” “Hannah was Fantastic, a lovely positive lady who I really enjoyed listening to” ].
