Bromleys Backs WWF

Carla and her 100 mile walk chart

When it comes to corporate responsibility, Bromleys is once again leading the way! As well as championing local causes like its current Charity of the Year, Reuben’s Retreat and last year supporting The Trussell Trust which operates on a regional level, Bromleys is also supporting international causes by donating to the world renowned wildlife conservation charity, WWF.

Carla Williams, Chartered Legal Executive specialising in Family Law at Bromleys, has supported WWF on an individual basis for several years. This prompted Carla to approach management to ask if they were able to donate to her fundraising efforts, in support of the outstanding work WWF does for nature and wildlife both in the UK and globally and was delighted when they agreed.

The Challenge

The firm kindly agreed to donate to the 100 Miles in March 2022 campaign Carla was taking part in which Carla said “showed real corporate concern over the alarming issues so often in the news recently around climate change and how to use the planet more sustainably for everyone”. A key message of WWF is that in order to make a difference it is not only individuals that need to act but businesses and governments – and Bromleys stepped up to the plate for local business without hesitation.

Carla completed the 100 miles over 31 days, which could be done anyway at all – walking, running, swimming, even dancing! In fact, Carla hit her target by walking, cycling and playing tennis! Bromleys supports its staff members in leaving the car at home, making a cleaner environment for locals, by operating as a member of the Cycle to Work Scheme, further demonstrating their commitment to a healthier, safer community and planet.

The target set by Carla was to raise £100 over the month which equated to £1.00 per mile. As a whole, WWF raised over £208,000 from the 100 Miles for March 2022 campaign alone. Whilst Carla had to ensure on average covering just over 3 miles per day, she did so with the company of her dog, Roxie!

How Bromleys can help you

Carla is often instructed in child disputes, where the approach of the court is always acting in a way that furthers a child’s best interests.  Contributing to making the planet a better place for the children of today, by the time they reach adulthood, is one way in which Bromleys demonstrates that they not only support worthy causes that impact on everyone the world over and more locally, but is clear evidence that the children of their clients and their future is equally important to the firm.
